Dr. Mindi S. Garner is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician serving the communities of southeast Kansas in Pittsburg, Kansas and Girard, Kansas for over 20 years in outpatient clinics, nursing facilities and hospitals. Dr. Garner was raised in Parsons, Kansas and completed undergraduate studies at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, medical school at Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Internal Medicine Residency at University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Garner completed a Master’s in Business Administration at Pittsburg State University in 2017. She launched the first Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in the region in December 2003 and specializes in the Practice Management business component of medical care with extensive billing and coding experience and value based payment models. Dr. Garner is an expert in insurance contract negotiations to increase fee schedule compensation and decrease red-tape burden on providers.
Dr. Garner joined the Pinnacle Care board of directors in 2005 and became President/CEO in 2011. The organization was founded in 1996 as a Physician Hospital Organization (PHO) and has led the region in provider credentialing and insurance network access. In 2024 the organization was reorganized as a Provider Organization (PO) and added a multitude of services to serve both independent and employed physicians, mid-level practitioners, and allied health professionals. Pinnacle Care serves the medical community as a united group to navigate the challenges of the business side of medicine to secure fair reimbursement for the exceptional medical care provided to our local communities.
